“Guys Reading Poems” to Screen at Rush Arts Gallery

As part of National Poetry Month, “Guys Reading Poems” will screen at Rush Arts Gallery (526 West 26th Street, Suite 311, New York, NY 10001) on Tuesday, April 4th at 7 p.m. On hand for the screening will be the gallery’s esteemed curator and poet Danny Simmons (producer, HBO’s “Def Poetry Jam”) along with West Hollywood poet laureate Steven Reigns, whose work is included in the film. We had a terrific time at our February open mic, when our theme for the month was, “In Tribute To….” Poets and readers gathered at Shaky Alibi at our regular first Thursday of the month, this time to dedicate a poem to their mothers, sisters, friends, lovers and even to our veterans. “Guys Reading Poems” will screen on Sunday, February 19th at 4:15 p.m. at DC Independent Film Festival in our nation’s capital. Guys Reading Poems in competition at D.C. Independent Film Festival

We are proud to announce that Guys Reading Poems is one of ten feature films in competition at the D.C. Independent Film Festival. More than 40 people gathered at the Shaky Alibi coffee house last Thursday for the inaugural GUYS READING POEMS open mic poetry night.
