For the second time in as many festivals, “Guys Reading Poems” has walked away with an award. This time, the neo-noir poetry feature film won the “Creativity in Drama” award from the 36th annual Breckenridge Film Festival. Director Hunter Lee Hughes was on hand on Saturday night to pick up the award (cheered on by actor Rex Lee).

Just a few weeks ago, the film won the Audience Award for Best Feature (Drama) at the 25th annual Woods Hole Film Festival. It world premiered in April, 2016 at the 21st annual Palm Beach International Film Festival, followed by screenings at Dances With Films and qFLIX Philadelphia, where it was screened as a Centerpiece Selection.

More screening will be announced in just a few weeks!

Check out the video of Hunter accepting our Breckenridge honors below….and if you listen carefully, you’ll hear Rex’s supportive yell (and truthfully, you won’t even need to listen all that closely – he’s pretty loud). We were lucky to get video at all – it was only because Rex was thinking quickly and started filming with his i-phone that we managed to get the footage!
