You were the smile we almost pursued,<\/p>\n
an energetic, infectious laugh encased in a body that knew how to dance.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
You were the adventure we met online,<\/p>\n
a friendly emoticon turned fellow sojourner of the night.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
You were the mother we trusted,<\/p>\n
a vivacious embodiment of family driven to celebrate all in her tribe.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
You were the love of our lives, not quite expressed.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
All evenings draw to a close, eventually. Final hours turned final minutes.<\/p>\n
Last call.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The screams.<\/p>\n
The terror of bullets and blood.<\/p>\n
The insane logic of unpredictable slaughter.<\/p>\n
All these might dictate a sudden, startling loss of your faith.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But know that you…<\/p>\n
Friend, Lover, Mother…<\/p>\n
Restored ours.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And we will remember you, whenever they say…<\/p>\n
